About Me

I was born in Alabama and raised on a small farm in a tiny place called Grassy (between Guntersville and Arab) over in Marshall county.  My Dad is from Etowah county and my Mom was from Cullman county.  I graduated from Arab High School and graduated from UAH with a business degree.  I moved from Huntsville to Harvest in 1990, and we now live in Huntsville near Monrovia on a small farm that reminds me of where I grew up.   My wife and I have one son.

I have been very involved with Startup Businesses and have created jobs where there were none.  I am very familiar with what it takes to organize and run a business and have helped relocate people to our area.

I began my career as a Contract Specialist with the Strategic Missile Defense Command and I am very appreciative for the education and opportunities that this experience provided me.

My wife and I founded a company called 3D Research Corporation in Harvest in the bedroom of our home in Anderson Hills that grew from just us to over 150 employees.  Revenues grew from nothing to multi-millions per year supporting major test programs in the Army.  Our company was twice inducted into the INC 500 as one of the fastest growing companies in America.

In 2006 I had the privilege to co-found with three others, Synapse Wireless Corporation, which is located off Dan Tibbs Road in Madison county.  Synapse is primarily a commercial company and is growing nicely, employing about 25 people and has over 20 patents pending.  Synapse Wireless is an employee-owned company that I believe has created a “game-changing” new technology that can potentially change the way the world operates.

I have had an instrumental role in creating hundreds of jobs, many of them located in our District.

I am really thankful to be a small part of the business community of Huntsville, and I really enjoy sharing my experience with business with others that want to start and own their own company.  I am very happy to live here and be a part of this community and I am very proud, as we all are, when Huntsville receives national recognition for its accomplishments.
